As the Iraqi people are preparing themselves for the January 2009 elections, the worlds eyes will be firmly on the Iraq and its attempt to establish a truly democratic government that represents the whole of the population. The need for the Iraqi people and its current government to demonstrate they are ready to exercise the most important aspect of a democracy, fair elections, has never been greater. With the issue of Security and Stability still at the heart of Iraq's problems, it will be interesting to see how elections are carried out and how credible they really are.
